Pain is slowing you down—but recovery doesn't have to.

Whether you're recovering from a sports injury, struggling with persistent tendon pain, managing arthritis, or trying to return to the activities you love, finding the right treatment can be challenging.

At Laser Recovery Clinic, we use MLS® Laser Therapy—an advanced, evidence-informed form of photobiomodulation (PBM) developed by ASA in Italy—to support pain relief, reduce inflammation, and encourage the body's natural healing processes.

Unlike treatments that simply mask symptoms, MLS Laser Therapy works at a cellular level, helping injured tissues recover more efficiently.

What is MLS® Laser Therapy?

MLS® (Multiwave Locked System) Laser Therapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that delivers synchronised laser wavelengths to damaged or painful tissues.

This patented technology was developed by ASA S.r.l. in Italy and is used internationally by healthcare professionals in sports medicine, rehabilitation, orthopaedics, physiotherapy and pain management.

Treatment is comfortable, requires no needles or medications, and most sessions take between 10–30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

What conditions may benefit?

At Laser Recovery Clinic, MLS Laser Therapy is commonly used as part of a broader management plan for conditions such as:

Sports injuries

  • Muscle strains

  • Ligament sprains

  • Tendon injuries

  • Return-to-sport rehabilitation

Orthopaedic conditions

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Bursitis

  • Shoulder pain

  • Hip pain

  • Knee pain

  • Back and neck pain

Tendon disorders

  • Tennis elbow

  • Golfer's elbow

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Rotator cuff tendinopathy

  • Patellar tendinopathy

Foot and ankle conditions

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Ankle sprains

  • Heel pain

Nerve-related pain

  • Sciatica

  • Peripheral neuropathic pain

  • Certain nerve irritation syndromes

Post-operative recovery

Laser therapy may also be incorporated into rehabilitation programs following orthopaedic procedures, where appropriate, to support recovery under the guidance of the treating healthcare team.

How does it work?

Every cell in your body contains tiny structures called mitochondria—often referred to as the cell's "powerhouses."

When tissue is injured, inflamed or under stress, those cells produce less energy, making healing slower and less efficient.

MLS Laser delivers a dual wavelength technology. The combination and synchronisation in a single pulse of the continuous (808nm) and pulsed (905nm) emissions synergises and strengthens the therapeutic effects on the inflammation-oedema-pain triad.

Rather than forcing the body to heal, MLS Laser Therapy aims to optimise the body's own healing response.

Evidence-based Medicine

Safety and effectiveness of MLS® Laser Therapy are constantly proven as ASAcampus, the Joint Laboratory between ASA Research division and the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Experimental Science at the University of Florence - Italy, directed by Dr. Monica Monici.

What makes MLS® different?

Not all laser therapy systems are the same.

Laser devices differ significantly in:

  • wavelength

  • power output

  • pulse characteristics

  • energy delivery

  • treatment protocols

MLS® Laser Therapy combines two synchronised wavelengths within a patented delivery system designed to provide effective energy delivery while maintaining patient comfort.

This technology has become widely adopted in many rehabilitation and sports medicine settings around the world.

Is MLS Laser Therapy right for you?

If pain or injury is limiting your work, sport or everyday life, an assessment can help determine whether MLS Laser Therapy may be an appropriate option.

Whether you're recovering from a recent injury, managing a chronic condition or looking to optimise recovery after a procedure, we'll work with you to develop a personalised treatment plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is laser therapy painful?

No. Treatment is generally comfortable and non-invasive.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your diagnosis, symptom duration and treatment goals. Acute injuries often require fewer sessions than long-standing conditions.

Is there any downtime?

No. Most patients resume normal activities immediately after treatment unless advised otherwise for their injury.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly. However, we also work collaboratively with GPs, physiotherapists, podiatrists, orthopaedic surgeons and regenerative medicine specialists when appropriate.
